CARBON ACCOUNTING
INCREASING PROFITS.
DECREASING CARBON
Carbon accounting is the process of calculating your organisation's carbon (CO2) and other greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Like financial accounting, carbon accounting measures and reflects the impact of your organisation's activities – however, instead of financial impact, it calculates the impact on the climate.
Carbon accounting offers organisations of all shapes and sizes some brilliant benefits. It:
- Identifies potential over-reliance on high carbon sectors in your supply chain – enabling you to transition away from these before increased costs hit
- Ensures you remain creditworthy. Banks are beginning to look to decarbonise their loan books, meaning borrowers will need to reduce their own carbon emissions
- Demonstrates genuine commitment to reducing your environmental impact
- Makes you an attractive partner for larger companies who want their partners to be able to provide emissions data
- Ensures you meet your legal and regulatory requirements in regions that require emissions reporting
- Can save you money – by helping you identify energy-saving and waste-reduction opportunities
- Allows for better planning and implementation of sustainability initiatives and improved supply chain management
…and much more! For service-specific benefits, skip straight to our Services section.
Why outsource your carbon accounting to us?
We’re a UK-based (but internationally-operating) B Corp accounting firm, making carbon accounting simple for micro and small organisations.
Outsourcing your carbon emission accounting to us means tapping into our specialised knowledge and data management expertise. So, you can rest assured that your carbon accounting data is accurate, compliant, and reliable – and focus your energies on your other goals instead.
Use the financial data you already have
We calculate your emissions using Sumday, a leading carbon accounting platform – and Xero’s official global carbon accounting partner. Conveniently, Sumday directly integrates with Xero to pull the financial data you already have, before using it to calculate your emissions data. It can also be used to create transparent reports, visualise results in an accessible way, and engage with – and support – your supply chain.
Your carbon emissions are measured according to global standards.
